Are You Capitalizing Your Ad Content?

You’d be surprised at just how effective capitalization can be. You have an ad headline and two lines of description then the URL. That’s it. Not much space. What are you going to do with it?

You obviously can’t write a book. Not enough space. So use the space you have.

Instead of trying to add new words to your ad content, try emphasizing the words you are using. This can be very effective. One way to do that is with capitalizing your words. Yes, every word.

Testing has shown that capitalizing the words in your pay per click ads can lead to higher click-through rates and getting visitors to click through to your landing page is the primary objective of your ads so everything you can do to increase that CTR is a big plus. Here are two examples of the same ad where one using non-capitalized words and the other uses capitalized words. See if you can guess which one had the higher CTR:

Modify Your Loan
Apply today – loan modification
Save money on your mortgage

I’m leaving the URL out of the ad because it isn’t relevant to this discussion. But look at the same ad with capital letters:

Modify Your Loan
Apply Today – Loan Modification
Save Money On Your Mortgage

The capitalized words stand out more, don’t they? And they stand out more then they’ll get more attention. Yes, it gets a higher CTR. Try capitalizing the words in your pay per click ad content.
