Google Conversion Tracking is a relatively new tool, but it is very helpful for tracking different types of actions. What you need to do is define the actions you want to track, but the tool is useful for tracking these types of actions (and more):
- Purchases
- Leads
- Page Views
- Opt Ins
- Clicks
And, of course, much more.
What you do is sign in to your Google AdWords account and click on Conversion Tracking. You have to “create a new action.” It can be anything. Whatever is valuable to you. You’ll have to copy the conversion code and paste it into your Thank You page, or in the case of Page Views, into the source code for the page you want to track. And if you want more detail, you can ascribe values to your actions and Google AdWords will give you a run down of how the tracking measures up against your stated value.
