How Many Pay Per Click Providers Are There?

Is Google the only pay per click game in town? No. Definitely not. There are others, though it must not go without saying that Google is the largest and most popular, for obvious reasons. But if you want to expand your range of options, here are a few other pay per click providers that you should take note of:

  • Yahoo! Search Marketing
  • MSN adCenter
  • ABC Search
  • 7Search
  • Miva
  • SearchFeed
  • Facebook
  • StumbleUpon
  • Search 123

Some of these are pretty small pay per click companies, but they offer excellent opportunities for reaching your target market for much less than you will at Google AdWords. In fact, our recommended approach is to start with Google AdWords then use the smaller PPC search engines to augment your advertising. It works.

It might be good to note that some of those smaller guys can provide loads of really bad traffic very quickly. You can easily spend thousands of dollars quicker than you would on Google, Yahoo or MSN without getting any return. This comment is specifically about Miva (but 7search, abc search and maybe a couple of others probably fit in there as well).

It’s not to say that they won’t work, it is just that advertisers without much experience on those 3rd tier engines should use extra caution when testing them out.

Nice list. Business.com is another one that can work well for the b2b advertisers.

Everyone knew that, Google dominates in pay per click. Yes, people can choose other pay per click providers, if they are interested in it. I too tried two to three providers. It’s working. It’s nice to know that, there are more pay per click providers. This information would be useful for the readers.

I have been working in the PPC industry for over 6 years and I have tested each of the “2nd and 3rd tier” PPC search engines and have found minimal positive results. Keep your budget and efforts on the top 3 (google, msn, yahoo). You may find 1-2 months of positive results from these smaller search engines but the inevitable fact is that the top 3 will consistently return a positive ROI, will garner 80% of your traffic and you will experience lower fraudulent traffic.
