When you manage your pay per click campaigns, it would help if you follow the same routine every time. That way, you understand the process much better and you are less likely to make mistakes if you have a system or protocol that you stick to. I’ve come up with a useful acronym to help you do that. REBEL.

Whether you want to pronounce it REBel or REbel is up to you. Either way, it’s time to REbel against the forces that are holding you hostage to pay per click FAIL. Here’s a suggestion for how you can overcome the PPC management tie downs and make your campaigns successful:
-
R = Research
E = Evaluate
B = Bid
E = Execute
L = Listen
Those are nice points, aren’t they? But what do they mean? Let’s elaborate a little bit.
- Research – Before you do anything else, research your keywords. PPC advertising is keyword-based and if you don’t target the right keywords then you won’t win. Your success is wholly dependent on starting at the right starting place. And that’s with the right keywords. Do your research.
- Evaluate – Make sure you evaluate your keywords and focus on just the best. Throw out any keywords that are not specific to your niche. Just because your research uncovers suggested keywords that seem to fit, do a little analyzing to make sure they fit for your company. Also, during this phase you’ll evaluate your competition and seek to understand the competitive landscape of your niche in PPC advertising. Where is the highest bidder?
- Bid – After narrowing down your keywords and deciding on the right ones to focus on, start the bidding process. Don’t just go for the No. 1 position. Make your bids on the right position for your keywords so that you maximize your ROI.
- Execute – The execution phase is management. You have done your bidding, now get in there and write some ads. Execute your ad campaigns and start driving targeted traffic to your landing page.
- Listen – Listen to what the market is saying. Pay per click management is a daily struggle. You have to log in to your account and see what is happening. Pay attention to the details. What does your CTR say? Should you rearrange your ad groups? Are there areas that your missing out on capitalizing on? This is the real management phase of your pay per click campaign and where you’ll really earn your ROI.
