Can You Use PPC To Promote Affiliate Programs?

Many affiliate marketers have earned their way to superstar status by applying common pay per click strategies to their marketing of affiliate programs they participate in. This is a very effective way to market your affiliate products. But there are some things to think about when you use pay per click advertising as an affiliate:
- Instead of using your affiliate ID in the ad itself, create a landing page of your own to sell the benefits of the product you want to push.
- Some affiliate marketers link directly from their landing page to the affiliate product’s sales page, but when you do this you are taking yourself out of the loop for future sales. Try to capture an e-mail address instead so you can use it for future marketing.
- Only use product names in your pay per click ads if those products are well known products.
- Bid on generic terms for products rather than their specific brand names.
- Approach ROI measurement the same way you would for traditional pay per click advertising; don’t spend than you can reasonably afford to make in sales each month.
- Your ad doesn’t have to be No. 1 to get click throughs.
- Optimization through keywords is still the name of the game.
Many affiliate marketers have done extremely well with pay per click advertising. I highly recommend it.
