If you have a product that compliments a popular holiday or event you can piggyback on that event and increase your sales using pay per click advertising. You know that people will be searching for Super Bowl information. Are you a sports bar? Will you have a Super Bowl watching event? Do you sell footballs and other sporting equipment? Add Super Bowl to your list of keywords and capitalize on the event.
The first thing to keep in mind is your budget. You don’t want to overspend. If you are using the event itself as a one-time chance to capture your target audience and that event’s keyword is not a normal keyword for your business then you stand a chance of spending money on non targeted traffic. Keep an eye on that.
Beside that danger, however, you can use the event to draw in a segment of your market that might not find you in other ways. And the way you capture that segment is to use your own keywords in conjunction with Super Bowl. You aren’t replacing your keywords with Super Bowl. By combining the two keywords you stand a better chance of reaching the right market and you can skirt the danger of spending too much money on non targeted clicks.
