Three Pay Per Click Necessities: How To Think About Advertising

When it comes to Pay Per Click campaign management, there are really three things you need to keep in mind:

  1. No. 1, keywords are important. Just like in web copy, you can have too many and you can have too few. But you won’t get canned for spamming if you use too many keywords. You’ll just have an ineffective Pay Per Click campaign. That’s why I don’t recommend too many keywords. Pick the important ones and stick with them. Optimize your ad for the best keywords and leave the others alone.
  2. Secondly, your landing page is as important as your ad. Your landing page needs to be optimized and ready to take orders. Plus, the keywords on your landing page need to match those in your ad, or vice versa. However you look at it, they need to coincide.
  3. Thirdly, watch your budget. Whether you control your budget through daily maximums or your click bids, you have to watch your budget. Kill it too early and you can lose money. But you can also hurt yourself by bidding too low because you won’t get enough clicks to pay for your ads. You really need to optimize your bid prices so that you maximize your Pay Per Click ROI.

Those are the three things that you can control and that you need to pay attention to in any pay per click campaign. Manage your keywords, your landing page, and your bids and you’ll be a Pay Per Click winner.
